حسين رضازاده و رشيد شريفي ملي پوشان فوق سنگين ايران از سوي فدراسيون جهاني و كميته برگزاري مسابقات آزمايشي بازيهاي المپيك 2008 پكن به اين پيكارها دعوت شدند.
فدراسيون جهاني وزنه برداري(iwf) با همكاري ستاد برگزاري بازيهاي المپيك در نظر دارد پيش از برگزاري بازيهاي المپيك 2008 پكن يك دوره مسابقات را به صورت آزمايشي در 2 دسته 56 و 105+كيلوگرم مردان و 53 و 75+ كيلوگرم زنان برگزار كند.
براساس اين گزارش، اين پيكارها 9 بهمن ماه سال جاري به مدت 4 روز در شهر پكن پايتخت چين (محل برگزاري بازيهاي المپيك 2008) برگزار خواهد شد كه روز گذشته فدراسيون جهاني وزنه برداري با ارسال نمابري به فدراسيون وزنه برداري كشورمان از حسين رضازاده قويترين مرد جهان و دارنده دو مدال طلاي المپيك و رشيد شريفي دارنده مدال طلاي رقابتهاي جام باشگاه هاي آسيا دعوت بعمل آورد تا در اين مسابقات حضور يابند.
